What to Include in Your Salon's Google Business Profile Services
Write useful Google Business Profile service entries for your salon, with accurate names, concise descriptions and a process for keeping them current.

Your salon’s Business Profile services should describe what customers can actually book. Use clear service names and concise explanations, then keep them aligned with the website and the booking system. Available service fields vary by category and account, so work with the controls your profile currently provides.
Start with the approved salon menu
Use your master menu rather than inventing a separate list for search engines. Group related treatments sensibly and remove services you no longer offer. If the platform suggests services, verify them before accepting them. A suggested label is not evidence that your business provides that service.
What a useful entry contains
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Recognizable name | Helps a guest identify the service they want |
| Short description | Explains the actual scope without promotional filler |
| Price information, where supported | Sets accurate expectations using your approved price basis |
| Relevant qualification | Clarifies when an add-on, consultation or separate booking is needed |
An illustrative description might be: “Gel manicure with shaping, cuticle care and gel color. Ask the salon about existing-product removal and nail-art options.” Use it only if those details match your actual service. Do not add medical, safety or performance claims that your team cannot substantiate.
Keep wording specific and natural
Avoid listing city names repeatedly or adding “best” to every service. Explain meaningful differences between a basic service and an upgrade. If your profile supports a price field but the final amount varies, use the available options honestly and make the pricing basis clear on the website.
Maintain the service list
- Compare profile services with the current website menu.
- Remove discontinued treatments and outdated prices.
- Check whether booking names match the public names.
- Review the published profile after edits are processed.
- Record who will approve future menu changes.
See Google’s current service-management guidance for the available workflow. The service editor is one part of profile maintenance; it does not replace correct categories, hours, contact details and a working booking destination.
Use customer questions to improve the next revision
If callers repeatedly confuse two services, revise the descriptions to explain the distinction. If the same add-on causes surprises, make its treatment clearer across the website and booking journey. The goal is a more informed guest, not a longer keyword list.
Keep exploring
