A Christmas gift card campaign needs enough lead time for design, production, staff training and clear purchase instructions. Work backward from your intended sales dates and supplier deadlines. The six-week framework below can be adjusted to your salon’s actual capacity and available gift-card system.
A six-week operating plan
| Week | Main task | Required output |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Confirm the product and terms | Approved value options, redemption process and responsibilities |
| 2 | Finalize design and production | Proof, code test, print order and realistic delivery date |
| 3 | Prepare the purchase path | Counter display or supported online process, website information and staff script |
| 4 | Introduce the campaign | Permission-cleared photographs, social content and authorized customer communications |
| 5 | Answer buying questions | Clear information about delivery, locations and actual deadlines |
| 6 | Support final purchases | Accurate availability, holiday hours and a redemption-ready team |
Keep the creative connected to the offer
Use seasonal details that still feel like your brand. Photograph the actual card and packaging when you are presenting a physical product. If an illustration is used, make sure it does not imply a package or benefit the customer will not receive.
State deadlines honestly
Physical production, shipping and in-store pickup have different constraints. Publish only deadlines your team and suppliers can support. Do not promise a digital alternative unless your system actually issues and delivers digital gift cards.
Give staff a short script
Staff should be able to explain the purchase options, redemption location, balance process and any approved terms. Keep a written answer for common questions about partial use, lost cards and service upgrades. Resolve policy uncertainty before the busiest sales days.
Track the campaign beyond Christmas
Record issued value, number of purchases, delivery issues and later redemptions. Keep promotional bonuses separate from purchased value where applicable. Review accounting treatment with the business’s accountant and evaluate the cost of serving redeemed value, not only holiday cash collected.
After the campaign, document which messages helped buyers and which questions caused delays. Use that record to prepare the next seasonal campaign earlier and with fewer operational surprises.
